Jeremiah Owyang

Jeremiah Owyang is a Partner focused on customer strategy at Altimeter Group and author of the popular blog Web Strategy, which focuses on how corporations connect with their customers using web technologies. According to Technorati, the Web Strategy blog is in the top 1% of all blogs, and has over 40,000 subscribed readers. Hailing from enterprise web management, a former Industry Analyst, Jeremiah consults and speaks on the topics of disruptive technologies for brand related customer strategies.

In the realm of disruptive technologies, Jeremiah is frequently sought after and has appeared on Bloomberg TV and is quoted in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, Associated Press and other technology and business related publications. He was featured in the 2009 Who's Who in the Silicon Valley Business Journal. As a speaker he has keynoted the Internet Strategy Forum, Web 2.0 Expo, SXSW, and dozens of other venues.

Previously, Jeremiah was a Senior Analyst at Forrester Research, focused on social computing for the interactive marketer. Prior to that, was the Director of Corporate Media Strategy at PodTech Network, a podcasting and online video startup. From 2005-2007 Jeremiah held the title of Manager of Global Web Marketing at Hitachi Data Systems and launched the community and blog program. He also served as the Intranet Architect at World Savings (now Wells Fargo) and was a user experience professional at Exodus Communications. Jeremiah is active with the web community and has hosted workshops, events, and community tweet ups across the globe. He's active with the Twitter community and has over 52,000 followers and growing. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from San Francisco State University.

After work, he spends time with family, gets in some exercise, and travels to tropical beaches. Jeremiah was pleasantly surprised to find that his small, white, furry dog Rumba is active on Twitter.

Maria is the Senior Vice President for News and Current Affairs of ABS-CBN and the Managing Director of ANC.

Maria Ressa determines strategic direction and manages the Philippines' largest newsgathering team in the Philippines providing content over a wide range of platforms combining traditional and new media: a free-to-air native language station (Channel 2), 19 provincial stations (RNG), a 24-hour English cable network (ANC) distributed globally, an internet news service (abs-cbnnews.com) and nationwide radio (DZMM).

Prior joining ABS-CBN, Ms. Ressa worked for Cable News Network (CNN) for nearly two decades, serving as Manila Bureau Chief from 1988-1995, and as Jakarta Bureau Chief from 1995-2005. She travelled extensively and reported from her base in Southeast Asia as well as India, Pakistan, China, South Korea, Japan, Australia and the United States. As CNN's lead investigative reporter in Asia, she specialized in investigating terrorist networks. Videotapes of her coverage of terrorism were found in what experts believe to be Osama bin Laden's private videotape collection in Afghanistan. She is the author of Seeds of Terror: An Eyewitness Account of Al-Qaeda's Newest Center of Operations in Southeast Asia (Free Press, 2003).

She graduated from Princeton University. She was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to the Philippines in 1986, where she attended graduate school at the University of the Philippines. Among the awards she has received are the Overseas Press Club Award for Best Documentary, the National Headliner Award for Investigative Journalism, an Emmy for Outstanding Investigative Journalism, the Asian Television Awards, the SAIS-Novartis International Journalism Award, and the TOYM (given annually to ten outstanding individuals in the Philippines). Ms. Ressa taught broadcasting principles at the University of the Philippines, and at Princeton University, she designed and taught a course on Politics and the Press in Southeast Asia.

Angeli is the Regional Senior Director of the newly set up digital division of Dentsu Asia. In this role, Angeli is developing the digital business of Dentsu in Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Prior to moving to Dentsu Asia, Angeli was the Managing Director of one of the Philippines' most awarded and leading digital /CRM agencies, Dentsu Indio. Dentsu Indio's clients include Canon, Honda, SM Group (the largest retail business in the Philippines), UNICEF, San Miguel Corporation, Johnson and Johnson.

She also was part of the team that set up the direct marketing unit of Ogilvy Manila. In her 7 years at OgilvyOne, Angeli won numerous International DM Awards for work for Nestle, Unilever and Crown Asia.

Angeli also takes the helm in developing the digital marketing industry as the former Vice President of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines, and currently, member of the Board of Advisors of the I Media Summit.

Angeli graduated with a B.S. in Management Engineering. She is a part time lecturer at the University of Asia and the Pacific and gives talks at several digital/CRM conferences. After his Army period Arnout joined Shell International where he fulfilled several global Marketing roles, based in London and The Hague. As Head of Brand Advertising, APAC for AdMob, Christian is responsible for the development and evangelizing of the company's leading position within the mobile advertising space in the Asia-Pacific market. AdMob was purchased by Google on May 27th, 2010. Prior to joining AdMob, Christian was the Country Sales Manager for Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam at Microsoft's MSN and Windows Live business, where he was responsible for building the sales team and managing agency relationships. Frédéric has a rich and varied career in many domains. Apart from having occupied posts of high responsibility in several international groups, Frédéric has also created, developed and sold several companies.

He began his professional life in Warner Music France. Beginning as Project Chief on a part time basis, he took over the management of marketing. Two years later, he was recruited by the European group Canal+, to take in hand the musical subsidiary of the group, La Bande Son.

In 1997, Frédéric launched his first business by creating Attitude Studio. Supported by several investment banks and a series of private investors, Attitude swiftly became one of the preferred 3D animation studios on the world market mainly due to its proprietary technologies.

The company registered several patents, produced various animated series that were purchased and distributed throughout the world, and opened offices in Luxembourg and the United States. Attitude also produced «Renaissance», a feature length animation that was distributed by Miramax worldwide and was pre-selected in the Oscars. After leaving his operational activities at Attitude in 2000, Frédéric sold his shares to the other shareholders at the end of 2002.

In 2000, Frédéric created Rouge, the first French agency for digital branding and strategic planning. The objective was simple but innovative at that time: proposing the development of strategic global approaches to companies integrating offline aspects with those of digital and mobile telephones.

At the heart of Rouge, Frédéric managed several trademark strategies with his partners including the European launch of the games consoleMicrosoft X-Box, MSN Messenger France, Amazon France, Samsung Mobile France and the entirety of the digital communications actions destined for targeting Teen for the operator Orange, also the online strategies for Powerade, Wonderbra, NRJ Mobile...

Frédéric equally had the opportunity of working with the internal online development strategy teams of the first European player in online dating, Meetic.com

Frédéric married his wife (of Filipino origin) in 2006. He sold his shares in Rouge and expatriated to the Philippines in 2007 where as Vice President in charge of strategic planning and creation he integrated the newly formed group NetBooster Asia. During 2009, he became Director and one of the three main leaders.

She owns two professional online communities, where knowledge sharing and business matching are usually conducted, the DigitalFilipino.com Club and Philippine Software Process Improvement Network.

She regularly conducts training on e-learning, e-mail marketing, Internet advertising, blogging, online payment, website marketing, e-commerce project planning, software process improvement, requirements management, and software project management. Janette Toral is a certified SCRUM Master.

She co-produced and hosted the DigitalFilipino.com Podcast back in 2006. It was considered the first podcast in the Philippines that had commercial sponsors supporting it.

She rendered consulting work from May 2005 to June 2007, functioning as executive director, to the Congressional Oversight Committee for the E-Commerce that resulted to the release of Data Privacy Guidelines (DTI DAO 8), SME-FIT (S.B. Corp.), Consumer Protection on Electronic Banking (BSP Circular 542), Procurement Eligibility Amendment (GPBB 07-2006), E-Payment and Collection System in Government (DTI-DOF Joint DAO #2), NTC Data Log Retention Circular, and NTC Consumer Protection Guidelines. Janette is a recipient of the DTI/CITEM E-Services Philippines E-Champion Award 2008 for Policy Development following Senators Magsaysay and Roxas.

She is a columnist to Sun.Star Cebu since 2003.

She is the ambassador of the Philippine School Cyberfair Competition.

She is the founder of the Philippine Internet Commerce Society,where she served as president for 5 years (1997-2002), and lobbied for the passage of the Y2K Law and E-Commerce Law (Republic Act 8792).

Abe Olandres

Abe is a professional blogger and has been running YugaTech full-time since 2005. Abe also runs several internet start-ups including a web hosting company and a blog advertising network.

He also works as a New Media Consultant to several local start-ups, media & advertising agencies as well as international organizations. He has done dozens of seminars and workshops on blogging, podcasting and internet marketing in various countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Pakistan and Germany.

Abe co-founded the Philippine Blog Awards in 2007 and, in 2008, became a co-organizer of the annual Search Engine Marketing Conference in the Philippines.

He also contributes to a couple of local and international publications.

Before becoming a fulltime internet entrepreneur, Abe used to work for HeadStrong Philippines and Microsoft Business Solutions.

Abe is a graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Computer Engineering.

Jayvee Fernandez

Jayvee Fernandez has been doing the rounds in both mainstream and online media for the past five years. In 2007, he launched BlogBank, a blog advertising community that has since generated 1.6 million pesos in income for bloggers around the Philippines.

As a media man, he currently is the technology and online editor for UNO Magazine and editorial consultant for the Philippines Free Press.

In the academe, Jayvee holds an adjunct faculty position at the Asian Institute of Management where he teaches marketing strategy.

Today, he devotes most of his time filming underwater videos of his trips around Philippine dive sites to help push the local scuba diving industry and educate Filipinos about conservation and biodiversity.

Jayvee is a graduate of the University of Asia and the Pacific where he holds a MA in Development Education.

Joey Alarilla

As the head of social content strategy, Joey is in charge of shaping the social media strategy for Yahoo! in Southeast Asia by making Yahoo! content available to users wherever they may be online. Prior to joining Yahoo!, Joey was head of the Multimedia Department of Level Up! Inc., The Philippines' leading online game publisher and the online gaming arm of the PLDT Group of Companies.

Joey has had extensive experience as a journalist, having spent more than 14 years covering the technology industry. He was one of the pioneers responsible for setting up the Philippine Daily Inquirer's online news site INQ7.net, now known as INQUIRER.net, in 2000. As the Multimedia Editor for INQUIRER.net, Joey was in charge of strategy creation for the Editorial department's multimedia division, including training the first multimedia reporters in the Philippines. He was also responsible for creating INQUIRER.net 's blog network, overseeing the site's podcasts, and launching its online video service.

He was also a former technology blogger for regional media house CNET Asia, as well as a multimedia critic for US-based website PopMatters.com. Joey is the author of the Philippine Internet Commerce Society's e-commerce handbook E-Business Made Easy. In 2004, he won third prize in the Essay (English) category of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature for Surviving the Zeroes, which talked about parenting in the digital age.

Carlos Palma

Carlos Palma was just appointed as Nuffnang Philippines Country Manager. Only 24, he is a genuine member of the digital revolution. In addition to being a digital marketer, he has a top food photography blog, foodiemanila.com. Carlos wants to teach and change the way the industry perceives bloggers. He has been with Nuffnang since 2009 and has done short stints in Nuffnang Malaysia and Singapore. Carlos holds a Bachelor of Arts degree major in Philosophy from Ateneo de Manila University.
